We are a non-profit working in the HIV prevention space. We have used this application to lock down our Android devices used in the field. We wanted to make sure that the device was only used for a specific data collection web application and prevent device misuse. The built in variables allow us to monitor data collected by specific devices to determine our top data collectors and also to disable certain devices if abuse is detected. Limiting the use to our specific web app has meant that we don’t get mobile data bill surprises from users checking out social media and videos whilst out in the field. There are a number of kiosk browser available, and some are even free, but we found that the features and support are worth the cost.
Here we provide Kiosk Browser Lockdown V 2.5.0 for Android 4.0.3+ Designed for use on any Android device and is great for creating public kiosks, interactive digital signage etc…. Lock down the user interface so that the end-user can only access your defined webpage(s) and can't adjust Android system settings or gain access to other applications.
