There’s no plot, there’s no script. We get a spaceship and the goal is to shoot all the triangles, circles and squares that are flying free on the background. That simple. But if you are a passionate of this kind of games you will know that its simplicity it’s its main strength. PewPew 2 includes 7 game modes (2 of which must be unlocked), 5 new unlockable ships with offensive defense, 1 extra campaign, with 3 levels of difficulties and boss figths and many other improvements regardings joysticks, music and rendering.
There are online leader boards to check other people scores, as well as online replays. The relaxing music is quite good and not intrusive at all. As you advanced through levels, you may unlock some new ships with offensive defense (bullets shot in every direction when hit). As the developer says in the app description (which, i have to say, it is gracefully complete and understandable), the high frame-rate is what defines this game. It is real and improve the user experience.
PewPew have been developed by Jean-François Geyelin, who has also launched PewPew (free version). It has to be said that he has well done those apps and his descriptions make clear all the game concerns.
If you’re a shoot’em up games lover, you will love this one. Simple, fast and reliable. Some aspects could be improved, but it deserves its 4 stars rating.
PewPew 2 is the paid version of PewPew, a multidirectional shoot’em up game akin to Geometry Wars.
