SHADOWGUN: DeadZone is the latest instalment in the Shadowgun franchise, which focuses this time exclusively on multiplayer action to offer battles over the Internet far wilder than is possible on a single Android device.
The game allows up to twelve players to play online simultaneously and offers two completely different game modes: the classic ‘deathmatch’, in which players simply have to kill each other, and Zone Control, where players must capture control points and guard them against enemy attack.
To provide extra variety in the game, players can choose from ten different characters and, even better, a huge variety of weapons and objects to destroy their enemies with. Sniper rifles, machine guns, plasma rifles, grenades, rocket launchers … they’re all there.
Besides all this, SHADOWGUN: DeadZone makes a few improvements to playability compared with previous titles. For example, characters can now run and roll around the battlefield to dodge enemy bullets.
SHADOWGUN: DeadZone is an outstanding online third person shooter, not only are its graphics comparable with a console or PC, but the gameplay also stands up to any of the titles available on those platforms.
Graphics are beyond anything else in online mobile multiplayer gaming, and the multiplayer voice chat feature brings a whole new dimension we couldn't enjoy in our devices so far. Controls are pretty intuitive, yet discouraging for casual players because you have to manage direction, view, weapons, items and additional on-screen buttons to sprint and roll.
