Skyward is a minimalistic arcade game that you play using just a fingertip. Sound easy? Far from it. Skyward is a hellishly difficult game and still absolutely beautiful. It also has fun and original gameplay.
Before you quickly discard this game because it looks way too similar to another popular game, you might want to give it a chance. Skyward is, ironically, pretty original when it comes to its gameplay.
What do you need to do? Achieve the highest possible score by advancing step by step. How? Tap the screen at the exact right moment when the circle is above your next tile. This might seem like an easy task, but we warn you: it isn’t.
The game system is very simple: you’ll see a little dot of color circling around a nearly-empty scene with a structure. You have to tap the screen at the exact moment the little dot is over the structure. If you get it right, the circle will get stuck and a new one will appear so you can keep playing.
With these simple mechanics, you’ll have to try to get as far as you can – a very hard task that will take you through beautiful settings with an aesthetic similar to that of Monument Valley.
Skyward is an arcade game with startling graphics and a simple but very addictive gameplay that’s perfect for touchscreens. Another excellent title courtesy of Ketchapp.
It's one of those games you can't help but keep on playing, even if you're really bad at it. Plus, the graphics are outstanding, even though they're not really innovative, ehem.
